Italian packaging machinery providers have earned a reputation for innovation and value.

This by itself is not news, as evidenced by a packworld.com report on PACK EXPO 2004. As of press time, Packaging Automation can report that the following exhibitors are planning major announcements regarding ELAU-enabled systems.

Cavanna—interpack Hall 14, Stand B30. Justifiably famous for its Cartesio G35 robotic cartoners, Cavanna’s core specialty is the ‘art of the flow pack,’ with a series of flow packing systems that include product handling as well as flow wrapping and cartoning for food and non-food products, including pharmaceuticals.

IMA—interpack Hall 16, Stands D13/E24. IMA designs and manufactures a complete range of automatic machines for tea and coffee packaging, process and production of solid dose products, processing and primary packaging of liquids and powders in aseptic and non-aseptic environments, freeze drying, labelling, primary and secondary pharmaceutical packaging, and end of line packaging.

OPM—interpack Hall 17, Stand B17. With a focus on carton, tray and case erecting, packing, lidding and sealing, OPM systems handle all manner of pack patterns and customized retail carton shapes, configurations and display cartons. Markets served are those where shelf presence is a must: bakery, confectionary, food, dairy, cosmetics and pharma.

PRB—interpack Hall 16, Stand B35. PRB, the end-of-line specialist, produces a range of overwrapping, case packing, palletizing and depalletizing, sortation, vertical accumulation and ‘smart’ integrated production/packaging systems. Markets include pharma, cosmetics, and now food, media, confectionary and tobacco.
