From this April 24th through 30th, 177,000 people are expected to visit the 50th interpack show in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Not only is interpack the biggest packaging show on earth, the fact that it only comes to Messe Düsseldorf once every 3 years makes it the most anticipated event in packaging. It is truly international, with packaging machinery buyers coming from 106 countries and 2,654 exhibitors representing 57 countries.

Innovative European packaging systems providers wait for interpack to make their groundbreaking announcements. In fact, it was back at interpack 1999 that SIG Combibloc defined the mechatronics category when they coined the term “Generation 3” to describe a beverage carton converting-and-packaging line operated and synchronized by ELAU packaging automation technology.

ELAU (interpack Hall 5, Stand D19), now Schneider Electric’s packaging automation specialist, will equip 200+ advanced packaging machines across the 17 halls at interpack. Over 100 ELAU-enabled machines are expected to be represented from Italian packaging machinery providers alone, not to mention Germany, The Netherlands, France, Scandinavia and even Canada.

What makes interpack so important?

The next wave of machinery innovations is highly anticipated and includes robotics, modular packaging systems, simplified operation and diagnostics, integrated functionalities, and built-in OMAC packaging guidelines.
