The developers of ISA 88 Part 5, Concepts in Modular Control, reached out to Italian packaging OEMs at an IPACK IMA session organized by ELAU Systems Italia.
Presenters included co-chairman Dave Chappell of Procter & Gamble and Sergio Perracchi of PFM, the first OEM in Italy to apply Make2Pack principles (see the article, pharma-configured flow wrapper).
The PFM machine was installed at a US company’s facility in Ireland with systems integrator SL Controls, using ELAU’s PacDrive automation system.
Chappell’s message of support for ISA 88 Part 5 from Coors, Du Pont, Pfizer and others received a warm response from Italian machine builders interested in learning the latest US market requirements.
