One huge hit at both PACK EXPO Las Vegas and earlier at interpack 2005 was ELAU’s new robotic software library.

Especially well received was the theme “say good-bye to ‘black box’ robot controllers forever!” With the ELAU PacDrive system, robot control is encapsulated in an IEC 61131-3 conforming Function Block on the same open architecture PacDrive controller that’s running the rest of your machine.

Now Packaging Automation magazine would like to know if you’re interested in learning hands-on how to develop robotic control functionalities by simply parameterizing Function Blocks. If interest warrants, ELAU will plan to hold an engineering workshop in early 2006 at its Schaumburg technical center, located just minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
